Google is changing the way Google Signals works with Google Ads. From June 15, 2026, Google Signals in GA4 will no longer be the main control for Google Ads cookies and IDs collected through the Google Analytics tag and SDK. Google Ads data use will be governed more directly through Google Ads settings and Consent Mode, while Google Signals will mainly control signed-in user association for behavioral reporting inside GA4. Marketers can still share GA4 audiences with Google Ads, but remarketing eligibility will depend on consent signals, audience rules, product linking, Ads settings, and first-party data quality. The practical next step is to audit Consent Mode v2, GA4 and Google Ads linking, audience sharing, key event imports, and privacy documentation.
